Data Exchange

For both schemes with licenced or sub-contracted certification services and for schemes that collect data themselves, it will be necessary to import and exchange this information with the CASI system and any other authorised data partners.

We have over 10 years of experience developing robust and professional data exchange systems that respond to our client's needs and their data partners technical platforms. We have designed systems that can function from the basic exchange of spreadsheets by email to full XML web services.

Scripted Email Gateways

Our simplest data exchange option is the scripted email gateway. Data providers can email attached data in an agreed format to a dedicated email address that automatically queues the information up for processing by our filter system. The gateway confirms receipt of the information once it has been successfully queued for processing. This option is generally used where the data provider has only basic IT facilities and the emailing of information on an agreed schedule is the most practical option.

Scheduled FTP transfer

This is the primary method of exchanging large format database such as MS Access files. The file is FTP'd by a data partner to an agreed location on one of our servers and the file is then added to a queue for processing. The import filter connects to the data source and imports the information into the CASI system.

Direct SQL connection

We can provide a secure landing database on one of our SQL servers for an authorised data partner to directly connect to. The can then update the information on an agreed schedule. We will then connect to this SQL data source and process the data into CASI.

 .Net Web services

Web services provide the opportunitiy for live data exchange between partners. We have web services available for the exchange and updating of all of the core CASI information and also additional services for providing status information or attaching additional information to assessments from remote systems.

All of our data exchange routes provide comprehensive validation and monitoring services. If data providers fail to provide the required frequency of information automatic monitoring alerts are triggered to request updates. This makes sure your central scheme database is always kept up to date. The validation features of the filters are configured by the scheme providing a data validation schema. This defines the importance of all of the information requested from data providers. If information fails the validation rules when imported, automatic email are sent to the data provider's nominated recipient group asking them to correct the information.

Development of a data exchange systems will be estimated as part of your CASI setup quote, but once up and running all routes into and out of CASI are covered by our standard data supplier support rates.
